Support for Students Experiencing Racial Trauma
You may be responding to the ongoing violence and bias against Asians and Asian Americans, the police killings of Black and Brown people, and the widespread impacts of structural racism. Perhaps you have experienced this yourself: microaggressions, harassment, and discrimination in your daily life. You may feel afraid, angry, exhausted, shocked, or nothing at all – simply numb - or something else entirely. Perhaps you are longing for a space to explore cultural identities and connect in community.
Counseling Services offers one-off same-day support sessions. Students may also reach out to Well-Being and Health Promotion for strategy sessions by emailing studentwellness@cumc.columbia.edu.
Counseling Services also provides virtual groups and gathering spaces for Asian Identified Students, Black Identified Students, or International Students.
