Campus Connect Training

Campus Connect is an interactive and experiential training for staff, administrators, faculty, and student leaders that provides knowledge and skills necessary to identify, connect with, and support CUIMC students in crisis or distress.  This is a collaboration between Counseling Services and Well-Being and Health Promotion

Through experiential exercises, case vignettes and discussion, Campus Connect participants learn ways to strengthen engagement skills and empathic listening, navigate the complexities and boundaries of their roles on campus, and more effectively facilitate referrals to professional resources.  Participants will leave this training with:

  • Greater awareness of attitude and beliefs toward mental health and help seeking
  • Knowledge about current trends in young adult mental health and suicide
  • The ability to differentiate between stress, distress, and crisis
  • Skills to support students in distress or crisis, and refer them to appropriate CUIMC services

If you are interested in hosting a Campus Connect training for your team, please contact Dr. Marisa Enrico, Director of Counseling Services, at mle2121@cumc.columbia.edu or Dr. Jane Bogart, Director of Well-Being and Health Promotion, at jb925@cumc.columbia.edu.
